All of our drone photography can be reused free-of-charge, be it for a personal project, academic or editorial use – or even full on commercial use and advertisement.
Run a business in North Wales? They’ll make the perfect background images for your social media content or website, without costing you a penny.
We release all of our images under a Creative Commons 4.0 licence. So long as you follow the rules set out in the licence, you gain permission to re-use the images without paying a licencing fee.
This means two things:
- You must credit DronePics.Wales anywhere our images are used. If used on your own website, you must link back to us. If used on social media, you should tag our accounts where possible.
- You must show the image is used under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence. The easiest way to do this is probably with a short ‘CC-BY 4.0‘ notice, although ideally, also link to the licence itself.
That’s it, provided you’ve credited us and stated the licence, you’re free to use these images as you wish.
If you’re creating a website and using our images within the design, perhaps as background elements, you’re welcome to give credit once in your website’s footer (or similar) rather than next to each image. Simply add the line “Photography by DronePics.Wales under a Creative Commons licence.” to your footer.
Instead of adding the info and links yourself, you can just copy-and-paste this HTML code into your website content or footer:
<p xmlns:dct="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" xmlns:cc="http://creativecommons.org/ns#" class="license-text">Images by <a rel="cc:attributionURL dct:creator" property="cc:attributionName" href="https://dronepics.wales/">DronePics.Wales</a> are licensed under <a rel="license" href="https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0">CC BY 4.0<img style="height:22px!important;margin-left:3px;vertical-align:text-bottom;" src="https://mirrors.creativecommons.org/presskit/icons/cc.svg?ref=chooser-v1" /><img style="height:22px!important;margin-left:3px;vertical-align:text-bottom;" src="https://mirrors.creativecommons.org/presskit/icons/by.svg?ref=chooser-v1" /></a>
It’ll show up like this, fulfilling the licence requirements by showing our name and the licence used while linking to both:
Images by DronePics.Wales are licensed under CC BY 4.0
